About

Commissionaires Victoria, one of seventeen autonomous Divisions of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, was established in 1937 and has grown along with the communities of Vancouver Island. With the addition of the detachment in Whitehorse, in 1999, the name was changed to Victoria, the Islands and Yukon Division to more closely describe our geographical boundaries.

Although most core functions are administered through the central office in Victoria, a number of regional managers are responsible for operations in specific geographical areas to better connect with local clients.

To contact any of these offices see the contacts page.

Commissionaires Victoria is the largest security business on Vancouver Island providing security services to all levels of government, industry, small business and individuals. The Division also administers guards and matrons for RCMP detachments throughout Vancouver Island and the Yukon. With over 1000 personnel it provides a wide range of security services in the major centres and is ready to respond to any security related requirements.

Mandate

The Canadian Corps of Commissionaires was founded for humanitarian reasons – to find meaningful employment for needy veterans. This benevolent purpose has remained intact and has provided the foundation for Corps and Divisional activity for many decades.

Over the years, eligibility has been expanded to include former members of the RCMP and ex-service personnel from allied countries. In addition, a number of non-traditional personnel such as former police, fire, paramedic and other persons of good character are hired.

Mission

We bring peace of mind to our clients by protecting their assets with high quality security professionals and other security related technological and administrative services.

Customer Value Proposition

Our clients’ assets including personnel, property, information, goodwill and brand are better protected from natural events, accidents and liability and intentional acts to cause harm.  This means savings to our clients in administration, time and costs.

Our clients’ image and goodwill are also represented and portrayed to the public in a highly professional manner by Commissionaires.  We maintain and strengthen our clients’ brands in the community.

ISO 9001:2008

The Victoria Division is certified under ISO 9001:2008 and is registered through  QMI (Management Systems Registrar). To maintain this certification, we have established an internal audit system to continuously monitor, correct and improve our performance. This translates into consistent, reliable and high quality service.

Our Quality Policy

Service of a rare high quality is the key to delighting our clients. It is, therefore, our policy to:

Assign security professionals who are matched to each client’s needs

Continuously work to improve through systematic, division-wide employee and client feedback

Maintain our certification to ISO 9001:2008 standards
