Enrolment

Joining the Commissionaires team follows a simple process designed to ensure candidates meet the requirements as a security guard and can fit into our culture of service and values.
Offers of employment will be based on the needs of the Division and successful completion of all requirements listed in the process below.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possess good moral character;
- Embrace our culture and commitment; and
- Meet the criteria to obtain a provincial Security Officer licence.
Step 1:
Application forms may be obtained from this web site (see below), at our main office, in Victoria (928 Cloverdale Avenue), Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM or from one of the Regional Managers (see the contacts page).

Step 2:
Following preliminary screening, you may be invited to an interview to confirm the details provided in the application and to determine your suitability for employment.
Step 3:
All applicants must successfully complete a minimum of ten days training prior to consideration for enrolment. This will ensure we continue to provide qualified, knowledgeable and effective personnel capable of meeting all government and industry security requirements.
We provide the provincially mandated Basic Security Training (BST) course, and an additional course for Commissionaires and those who wish to qualify to the Canadian Gernaral Standard Board which now provides an introduction to advanced Israeli security techniques by Chameleon associates. We also provide one day of Conflict Resolution training and another day of First Aid training at our facility which is accredited by the Justice Institute of BC.
All Commissionaire candidates will be assessed throughout the training programme for suitability and attitude and will be required to pass and score well in the examinations.
Step 4:
Successfuly obtain a provincial Security Officer licence .
Step 5:
Enrolment as a Commissionaire.
